Andrew Merrifield has written a new book that chronicles a journey of the soul he took with a donkey named Gribouille, called The Wisdom of Donkeys: Finding Tranquility in a Chaotic World. In the bucolic region of Southern France's Haute-Auvergne region, Merrifield finds himself, as well as ponders life's larger mysteries. Gribouille contributes as well as the two consider science, beauty, nature, literature, and truth.

Andrew Merrifield was born to Liverpool, and has taught geography at British and American universities. The author of four previous books, Merrifield lives in France, where he joins me now. The book is published by Greystone and retails for $22.95. It is a pensive and thoughtful book.
