Toronto Star columnist Antonia Zerbisias discusses the journalism and media reporting, her work in the Star, women's issues and politics, the current election campaigns in Canada and the United States, and more with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.

Joining me now is Antonia Zerbisias.

Let me read from her bio: Antonia Zerbisias, columnist for the Toronto Star's Living section, has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her opinionating career dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her 'rude, obstreperous, and bold. Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay."

Her column in the Star and her blog there, Broadsides are regular reads of mine. You might remember seeing her on television in recent years, hosting a program on CBC Newsworld, Inside Media. She was a long time media critic at the Star. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Antonia Zerbisias; Good morning, Ms. Zerbisias.
